Come and See | Becoming Catholic

Who is Jesus Christ? Why should I care?

What does it mean to be his disciple? Who is called to holiness?

How can I grow in my relationship to God?  What does it mean to pray?

What ways did Jesus leave us to participate in His divine life?

“Come and See” sessions are an opportunity for those who have heard something of this Jesus Christ and his Catholic Church and want to know more. They follow CCM’s time at Sunday Mass, and generally take place at the CCM House, starting at 1pm.

For those students who desire to enter life in Christ in his Catholic Church, Asheville CCM offers the path of the Church toward the Sacraments of Initiation—Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist—which lay the foundations of every Christian life, bringing us into communion with the Body of Christ, which is the Church.

Through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), those who wish to become Catholic, those who are baptized and now wish to be in Full Communion with the Catholic Church, and those who have been Baptized Catholic but have not received either First Eucharist or Confirmation, participate in a preparation process that is intertwined with the life of the community.

RCIA is offered to any student interested in receiving the Sacraments of the Catholic Church. The RCIA process starts early in the fall and completes during the Easter season. If you are interested in learning more about becoming Catholic, or if you are already a Confirmed Catholic, and you are interested in being an RCIA sponsor, please contact the campus minister or come to our “Come and See” sessions Sundays at 1pm.
